Located at 321 Aerodrome Rd, Applethorpe there is this delightful free attraction. A family owned and operated Christmas farm! The kids can have a look at a real Christmas tree forest and at certain times you can even pick one out and take it home. Have a wander through the beautiful tree's and watch the kids eyes light up with excitement. At the farm the kids can have a look at some of Santa's reindeer and feed some farmyard friends. (Animal food has a small fee) Inside there is a festive store full of Christmas decorations, lights and ornaments as well as a Café. (Being a young kid friendly blog I will say that the store is likely not the best place to take a bunch of excited little grabby hands but it really is something for them to see even if you just pop your head in) We visited in Autumn and it was quite cold and breezy, so plan your outfits according to the weather forecast. Located 2.5 hours West of Brisbane, this trip could be done easily as a day trip, but I highly recommend making a holiday of the area as it is full of wonderful things to do and see. See my other blogs in the Granite Belt for inspiration. We spent 2.5 days and it was not enough time to do everything we wanted to do. The essentials - Toilets Café Easy parking Free Open spaces Kid's enjoyed it a lot You can aim to spend 30 mins to 1.5 hours here depending on whether or not you decide to get some food.
