Approximately 5 hours and 45 mins north from Brisbane city is the coastal town of Seventeen Seventy. This is the first place James Cook landed in Queensland in May 1770 hence its name. There is a beautiful beach camping spot at 1770 where you can watch the sun set over the water. The beach is gorgeous and calm where little ones can play and adults can stand up paddle board or get a boat out for the whole family. Unfortunately when we visited there was a blue algae bloom which really ruined the beach experience (it smells and you really don't want to get it on you) so we did not spend much time there. Down the road in Agnes waters we found the paperbark tree walking track. While suitable for most ages, if it has been raining small children will need to be carried on the "step stones" My little ones could stretch out and jump between them JUST...but they have little legs and it was dry so they could also just walk around them. The walk itself is only about 400m and quite quick, but it is beautiful. The sunshine trickles through the trees and the kids loved the boardwalk and wildlife. Though I am sure at times this is a beautiful place to visit, for us personally on this trip we did not give it the best rating for visiting with little kids. We will return but not for a few years.
